a while.We broke up before 6 weeks because we had some issues we couldn’t handle.We love each other only we cant be together.So,i sent him a sms now(without previous condact,all this time)saying:”Hi,how are you?I hope you are fine.Me,i’m reading for my exams.I would communicate earlier but ididn’t want you to think that i was coming back to you.I believe we deserve to stay good friends and if you need my help some day in any matter,don’t hesitate…I ‘d like us to meet for acoffee or lunch downtown any time.Be well!”He replied immediately that he was surprised but very happy to hear my news and he’ll call me when he’s back to town so we can go out like 2 good friends.What do you people think?I have a new bf now but i want to maintain a good friendship with my ex.How you guys think about this?He’s sincere when he says we can stay friends?As for me,this is what i want cause he’s very good person.Any ideas?

This is tricky especially since you have a new boyfriend. I would say discuss this with your new boyfriend and if he says that its ok with him then it should be ok to remain friends with your ex.

depending on your new bf if he doesnt care that you 2 are friends then i believe it is possible to be friends with your ex as long as you dont wish you were still with him.but if youre new bf has a problem with it its best if you drop the friendship if you want to keep your new bf
I hope your new boyfriend doesnt gonna be jealous, but anyway if you want to maintain a good friendship with you ex its your right, moreover friendship is a precious thing which lasts
You haven’t given enough information about how you broke up. If you broke up with him (which I’m guessing you did) then he will likely want you back and is happy to have any contact with you that he can in order to get another shot at you. Do the guy a favor and leave him alone. You being around him and telling him all about the new boyfriend is not going to be a pleasant experience for him. Would you like it if you were in his shoes?
